Round Britain Rejects # 5 continued

Ah, I can add the bits which will make it a proper RBQ questiion. (Insofar as such a thing is within my power, obviously.) So here is the complete question, and I'm going to remove the partial answer presented as an image in the previous post to remove temptation from the frustrated.

If Hook's alma mater has jammy arms why would a modern Cockney be unconcerned? Might there be a different response from a famished drifter? Or would he prefer a more "softly softly" approach?

    Rhyming slang

Hook's alma mater Eton. Eton Rifles (trifles)no matter. Captain Hook=Pirates. Johnny Kidd was 'Hungry for love'. Softly softly=Ruby Murray ='Curry.'

    1. Well done so far - four out of six. Kidd-ing aside, you got the begining and the end right.

But I think you might stretch to the remainder of the answer, the bit in the middle, especially as this "drifter" is a comrade of the one mentioned in an earlier question. We have two examples of Cockney rhyming slang so far - can you think of another which might fit?

  3. Yes! Hooray! I can only award you a total of five marks because of the help offered, but you got there. If only there was some kind of prize - a silver cup, perhaps. But there isn't - only the warm, Readybrek-type glow which will follow you round in the weeks and months ahead. But congratulations anyway.

Another question will follow in a day or so.
